Grand Prix of Malaysia to remain on MotoGP calendar 2024

Medha.id. PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit (PETRONAS SIC) is delighted to announce the launch of its regional tour with Indonesia, in collaboration with Tourism Malaysia by touring to four major cities namely Malang, Surabaya, Jakarta and Medan for PETRONAS Grand Prix of Malaysia 2024 (MotoGP Malaysia), scheduled on 1 – 3 November 2024.

This regional tour serves as a platform to acquaint travel agents and media friends with the latest offerings, packages and experiences available at MotoGP Malaysia, while securing prospective meetings with industry players.

These engagements will further amplify awareness and drive participation in this premier motorsport spectacle as PETRONAS SIC celebrates its illustrious 25th anniversary, PETRONAS marks its 50 years remarkable achievements, and MotoGP celebrates their 75 years of racing story.

“Indonesia has always been our number 1 destination of choice and I am thrilled to kick off this regional tour as Indonesia has long been one of the important markets for MotoGP Malaysia. Last year, we recorded almost 15,000 Indonesian spectators, which is 35% higher than our target,” said Azhan Shafriman Hanif, Chief Executive Officer of PETRONAS SIC.

He further added that, “We are not here to compete with Mandalika but complement each other to enhance the overall fans’ experience as they get to taste the best of both worlds i.e; racing event in the city and island. We hope to share the excitement and passion of motorsport with fans across Indonesia and celebrate these milestones as one community and one racing family.”

The regional tour begins with the Tourism Malaysia sales mission in Malang before they move to Surabaya, and Press Conferences that will be hosted in Jakarta and Medan.
